I got these for my daughter who was starting lessons - for beginners they are perfect. The skates are easily adjusted by a small key at the rear that is very discreet. Fit wise they can be adjusted at both fasteners too and they are really well padded and ankle support is excellent. My 9 year old has difficult feet - wide and a high instep, and we often struggle to get shoes that fit well, but these were an amazing fit due to being adjustable. If you are going to carry on with lessons then probably you will want something more than these but for starting they are ideal and a definite step up from hire skates, the shoes are well made and the blade is of good quality too - I would recommend them.

My daughter finds it really hard to balance on these skates because the blades are quite curved but she is persevering.
